I had one of these on my Ford Ranger 4x4 and loved it, so when I bought a new Ford F150 SXT 4x4, this rack is the first accessory I purchased. Much of my usage has been hauling lumber. I have bought several 18' lengths of PVC trim board and transported them full length securely. They may lightly tap the roof or hood when I hit bumps, but not enough to cause any nicks or scratches. The overhang on the tailboard does not require a red flag. The rack is also handy for securing tall heavy items like refrigerators upright without worrying about them falling over. The only improvement I can think of is to add some hooks ore eyelets as places to easily attach the straps. I usually use rubber straps or heavy duty ratcheting tie downs and both can be awkward to attach.

Very heavy duty, perfect fit, easy install

PROS:
Surprisingly heavy duty. I was shocked at the weight and quality.
Custom fit. Installed this model on a 2010 Ford F150 standard cab. Go to manufactor's website for model #, don't trust amazon
East to install and very sturdy.
Made in Canada and USA
Lots of accessories, again go to Backrack.com for model numbers.
Doesn't block your rear view. The flat bar design provides just enough coverage and great strength.

BONUS:
I bought a like new one from Amazon, most likely a returned item from a guy who bought using Amazon model fit guide, his lost and my gain, saved $60
