Installation not so easy

I just finished installing these crossbars on my 2010 Odyssey. It is Honda OEM and very good quality.

The instructions that came with it are awful and the video that Honda has on YouTube is misleading at best.

First the video shows the Honda tech removing the front roof rack cover but on the 2010 you need to remove the rear. The written instructions do not say which. I found this out the hard way. I assume different years, 2005-2010, are different.

Second, these end covers are not easy to remove. In the video, the tech has a special tool in his hand that he inserts to slide the cover off to the rear. Unless you have that tool, or something similar, you need to use a screwdriver which will leave a mark on the roof rack and end cover.

Finally, the bolts they provide require a star shape bit. If you don't have this, you will need to find a screwdriver that will fit as a substitute.

If the installation was as easy as a dvertised I would rate it a five. But...

Honda Odyssey Crossbars

Product was exactly what I needed to attach a cargo carrier to the van. Installation was a breeze and took less then 30 mins. Note the product does not include installation instructions but you can simply go to the Honda website and download/print them.

This rack has come in handy several times and it fits the car perfectly. It was pretty easy to install.
