Fits 2011 and up Jeep Grand Cherokee

Well the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee roof rails are designed different than the 2010 and earlier. They are flush to the roof with only an inside grove... for the proprietary factory Mopar expensive roof racks to work no doubt. The "universal" roof rack's mechanism does not grab the rail....as the smooth side is on the outside the length of the rail.

I found an unorthodox solution to make the $75 "universal" racks work.
Swap the Jeep rails on the roof (left to right side/right to left side. There are four torx screws that hold the rails to the SUV roof. After swapping them, only three torx align each side and go back in, but that is all that is really needed.
This maneuver positions the deep groove side of the Jeep roof rails on the outside of the roof, allowing the "universal" racks mechanism to now grab hold when you tighten it down with the supplied wrenches.

The product works well, but you have to tape (or use the supplied vinyl strips) on the underside of the rail gap...so wind does not create a noise.
